New Ship Christening!
Greetings fellow theaphiles! So I am about to start a new 7th sea campaign. The problem I am having is what to name the ship. So I am looking for suggestions for good ships names.

Two Bits
"As a GM you have but one job. Make them hate you. As a role-player you have two, never let them rest to long, or run them until they are wasted. As storyteller give them, the journey you would want, the fellowship they desire, and nourish their imaginations."

silverdawnatl keeps the game really fun and dramatic in the right way, so the games are still extremely enjoyable.

As for the title of the post, I decided to make a new character for the next game I end up playing of 7th Sea, not for this present one since I have two characters on the books already for the game.

A political, but fun Vodacce gypsy type who has Unbound as an Advantage. Awwwww...yeah. Deciding between being a Lord's Hand or also taking Man of Will. Hmmmm...not sure yet, but I love the game that silverdawnatl is running so much that I'm already droolin' over the thoughts of another game, but unfortunately no one else I know has another game goin' that has a space.

Que sera, sera.

silverdawnatl rules. Last night's game was a really nice set-up for the next upcoming game (we didn't want to do anything big because technoir wasn't with us, but we did our research and half the group got to find out neat info and had cool interaction with one Secret Society (Sophia's Daughters) and the other half had more research into our situation (breaking into somewhere where the Vaticine Church has locked down) as well as neat interaction with someone from another Secret Society (Explorer's Society).

By the way, the Explorer's Society is mucho cool, jam-packed with information as compared to the old school 7th Sea books.

Why does silverdawnatl rule? We discussed the fact that I like the character that I'm playing, but not as much as an Eisen panzerfisted Knight of the Rose and Cross concept I have. The only problem/situation is that the story that he's telling by using my Ussuran character is übercool and I really wanna find out where he's taking me story-wise. At the same time, I'm really psyched about playing a character that can get down and dirty in the fighting, but also be a major social interaction kinda guy.

Well...S. said that I could play the Ussuran sometimes (since his plot is long term and will take a while) and I can play the Eisen when I'm not playing the other guy.

Woo-hoo! I'm supa happy now.

The Books Are In! The Books Are In!
The books I ordered a while ago showed up finally! Yay!

Thing is, I'm up here in HBG and I can't hook you up with them, Scott. So, when I come back I'll hook you up with them.

Luckily I'm having someone send Rose and Cross as well as Die Kreuzritter up to me so I have something interesting to read while I'm stuck up here (I have plenty of books, but another distraction that's easy to pick up and put down during class is always great).

You guys have to tell me how things are going in the game and anything interesting that has happened.

Last night's game
Wow. Very heavy, but...wow. I think everyone had their worlds rocked hardcore last night. Most of us feel as if we've signed our death warrant without knowing what we were signing. We are so majorly funked (but in a fun way).

I mean...taking a religious man's beliefs and saying that a major part of what they believe in is a sham and that you might not be able to ever truly go home because you might know too much. Wow. Besides the fact I was outted as being a sorcerer in front of everyone...

I honestly did enjoy the game. Seriously.

But daaaaaaaaaaamn...

p.s. - since we are taking on the Powers that Be™, I decided to play it safe and went out an picked up the Eisen book so I can make a backup character. ;)

Just a purchasing note
On eBay, I've won the following books:

Montaigne, Vendel/Vesten, Knights of the Rose and Cross, Invisible College, Avalon, Castille, Vodacce and Die Kreuzritter. It looks like I'll also win the Rilasciare book as well. I'll be expecting them in two weeks or so (not next week, but the week afterwards).

Any books you want, S., I'll bring to the game for ya.

Offical game night
What was decided by group vote is to hold the game on Tuesday with the occasional Sunday game when possible.

I am mainly posting this for arkhamrefugee's benifit to make sure that will work for him since he was not there for the conversation.

Notes to my players:

You have heard no more rumors since between when the game ended and where we will pick up you have been isolated on a ship. Unless you can talk to animals that is. In which case current gossip among the sea gulls is limited to a really juicy spot to catch fish just of the Vodacce coast. :)

Next game will be Tuesday. Dinner around 7ish and begin playing shortly thereafter.
technoir I need you to think about what your character is really truly afraid of.
Location of Game is currently TBA as I am under negotiation to have the game permantly hosted at my parents because they have more room than we do in our tiny little appartement.

More info as it develops.

An interersting eBay auction

It is an auction (I haven't bid upon it) for Avalon, the Invisible College, the Rilasciare (the Free Thinkers) as well as two adventure books - Scoundrel's Folly and the Arrow of Heaven - all for $19.95 (at least right now and no one has bid upon them yet).

If anyone knows anyone who has the Erebus Cross books (the Game Master's Screen, Scoundrel's Folly and the Arrow of Heaven) - they have information that is about the Explorers' Society that my PC is a member of. If anyone does know someone who has a copy of them (someone like Mickey might) and could copy the relevant pages for me, I'd be extremely happy.

Great starter game!
silverdawnatl - great game! As we all said, we had a great time with how things turned out and how things look like they will turn out. (p.s. - you still owe me $10 for the book)

arkhamrefugee - we can't wait for you to show up and enter in the mix of things.

technoir - remember to find out if they are having a sale up at Gameboard or whatever it is called. Also, to everyone remember this beautiful site: http://www.crystalkeep.com/7thsea/index.html

To everyone else - on eBay, I just put in bids for:
* A combo purchase of the Invisible College & the Knights of the Rose and Cross
* The Pirate Nations
* Avalon
* Vodacce
* Die Kreuzritter

...since they were all decently cheap (anywhere from $9.95 - 11.95) and most of them from the same guy so he can send them all at once at a cheaper rate.

Looking forward to next Tuesday!

Thanks again everyone for playing such a fun game!

7th Sea: Theah Rex
Theah is on the brink of war, and no one know it yet. Whispers in the dark speak of Alliances between the most unlikely of interests, Pirates Roam free along the coasts, and those with an ear to the waives hear rumors of a 'Pirate King', The Inquisition Presses in on all science and learning. The rulers of each country are incapable, uncaring, or haven't actually been seen in many years leaving many people to wander exactly who is guiding the fates of this world.
In a world of secrets and lies what can one small group of people do to turn the tide of corruption?

Welcome to 7th Sea. Where the fate of a city, nation, or the world may very well be in the hands of the young waif sitting next to you having a drink. Only he doesn't know it... yet.

Welcome to the 7th Sea campaign. I will be doing character generation this Sunday at my parents house because my dad wants to eavesdrop and see how this "role-playing thing works."

We will begin somewhere around 3:00 if that is good for everyone. I will be there much earlier so you can show up any time after 11 really, but do try and be there by 4:00. We will make up your characters and have an introductory story.
I once everyone is there I will also explain a few 'house rules' that I think will help give the game a better feel.

arkhamrefugee, will you need a ride or are you going to end up hitching up with laudnumkiss again? If you need a ride I will be happy to provide one.

Tuesday or Thursday?

Mike Flynn is also interested in joining this little group, but can't play on Wed nights. Does Tuesday or Thursday work for everyone across the board? You guys are the core group I have so it's up to you.

Character Generation
What does everyone's schedule look like for this Sunday? I would like to get the campaign underway sometime this month (preferably in the next week or two) so we need to get your characters made. :)

Let me know if you are all available for a lunch into the afternoon session on Sunday. We may even be able to get our first actually game session in.

1st game
OK, so the basic story arc is coming into focus. Now it remains to be seen when we will have our first game. I would say tomorrow because I am that excited and that much of a goober, but I fear a good number of you (myself included) may be hung over and recovering from New Years Eve. So, when will you all as players feel up to starting this Wed. night campaign?

Let me know,

That should give you a good feel for the general state of the world at the moment. Ready?

OK. First order of Business. Technoir and Laudnumkiss, I already have your answers, I'll get S's tonight and get in touch w/ the Mermaid by e-mail I guess. She really needs an LJ... grrr.

Arkhamrefugee, please distribute 10 points among these 5 topics. 0 meaning you have no interest in seeing this in a campaign 10 meaning it's the only thing you care about.
